August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Education:
Obama attended Punahou School from 1971 until his graduation from high school in 1979.
Undergraduate:
Obama studied at Occidental College for 2 years in Los Angeles, CA. He then transferred to Columbia University in
New York City, where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and specialized in International Relations in 1983.

Professional & Political Career:
Obama worked at the Business Interantional Corporation for a year, then four years at the New York Public Interest
Research Group. Obama moved to Chicago to work as a community organizer for Developing Communities Project
(DCP) in 1985 to 1988.
Obama entered Harvard Law School in 1988. In February 1990, he was elected president of the Law Review, a full
time volunteer position. He was the first black president of the Law Review. During the summers, he worked as a summer
associate the the law firms of Sidley & Austin in 1989 and Hopkins & Sutter in 1990. Obama graduated with a Juris
Doctor (J.D.) magna cum laude from Harvard in 1991. Obama was offered a fellowship from the University of Chicago
Law School to write his book. It was published mid 1995.
